When local businessman Bob Brunner decided to purchase a well-worn bar located on one of Hamburg’s busiest street corners, he envisioned the Irish pub that he could create in its place. On June 19, 1990, he opened J.P. Fitzgerald’s, Restaurant, Pub and Banquet Facility located in Hamburg, NY. Little did he imagine that twenty-five years later, family, friends, employees, local and state officials, as well as representatives from Ireland would help celebrate the long-running success of his establishment.

For the second consecutive year, J.P. Fitzgerald’s has been named a Top Workplace by The Buffalo News. We are honored to have been selected for this award and extend a big thank you to our employees who made it possible.

J.P.’s Foundation, established in 2010, is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the local community, with primary efforts benefiting Autistic children and adults. To date, J.P.’s Foundation has distributed in excess of $500,000, enabling the opening of an Autism Resource Center in the Village of Hamburg, NY. J.P. Fitzgerald’s is the host site for Run the ’Burg for Autism, an annual 5K run/walk.
